A Vat Refund for TouristsWHO CAN CLAIM A VAT REFUND?A VAT refund can be claimed by: - A non-Thai tourist who has been in Thailand less than 180 days. - A non-Thai tourist who is not an airline crew member. - A non-Thai tourist who departs Thailand from an international airport. HOW TO CLAIM A VAT RERUND 1. A VAT refund is only applicable to the products taken out of Thailand within 60 days from the purchase day. 2. The products must be purchased from the stores showing the “VAT REFUND FOR TOURISTS” sign. 3. On any day, the products purchased at each participating store must be at least 2,000 Baht including VAT. The total amount claiming for refund must be at least 5,000 Baht including VAT. 4. On the purchase day, show your passport and ask the sales assistant at the participating store to fill in the VAT refund form (P.P.10) and attach it with the original tax invoices. Each application form (P.P.10) must have a value of the products of 2,000 Baht or more. 5. Before departure, show your products as well as submit the VAT refund form and original tax invoices to the Customs Officers for inspection before check-in. 6. Luxury products such as jewelry, gold ornaments, glasses, watches or pens must once more be inspected by the Revenue Officers at the VAT Refund Office at the departure lounge after passport control. 7. In case of bank draft refund or credit to credit card account, you can either show your claim to the Revenue Officers or drop it into the box at the VAT Refund Counter or mail from your own home back to the Revenue Department of Thailand (vrefund@rd.go.th) HOW WILL THE REFUND BE PAID ?
