Country Club was established in 1989 and has the honour of the being
the first golf course built on the island of Phuket. Conveniently
located midway between Phuket Town and Patong Beach it is easily
accessible from all the main beach resorts.
The course provides a fun and friendly 18 holes set in a valley that
meanders through hills and limestone cliffs traversing 3 distinct
environment, with six holes in undulating hills, six holes on the level
and six through landscape forest.
Phuket Country Club is regular host of national tournaments and will
provide a challenging, but not intimidating round of golf for the high
handicappers who often have the best rounds of their lives. Accurate
shots are required although any wayward shots are not severely
penalised as the rough is very light. Water comes into play more on the
back nine starting at the 557 yard par 5 10th. This is one of the most
unusual holes you will find anywhere. A dog-leg right that snakes
around an enormous lake yet can be reached in one! To achieve it you
must aim 90 degrees right from the tee and be able to carry 240 yards
over the water.
The clubhouse has good facilities including locker rooms with sauna for
ladies and men, Pro shop, driving range, putting green, tennis courts,
and a golf academy. The poolside restaurant has panoramic views over
the golf serving excellent Japanese, local Thai and western cuisine and
is the perfect place to relax after your round.
The course remains a firm favourite amongst locals and regular visitors
to Phuket. The relaxing atmosphere and hospitality of Phuket Country
Club along with the beauty of the course, will guarantee you'll be back
again and again.
