Mountain is the sister course of Loch Palm Golf Club and the newest
course in Phuket. The course layout has been cleverly routed to take
advantage of the dramatic elevation changes while reminders of the tin
mining era have been imaginatively incorporated with spectacular holes
sculpted into, and through rugged rock cliffs and canyons.
At just under 7,000 yards in length from the 'Pro' tees, it allows
players of all levels the chance to enjoy a great golfing experience.
Fairways are grassed with Seashore Paspalum and Bermuda grass on subtle
breaking greens which are true and fast. Water comes into play on
numerous holes and every hole on the course will present you with
different challenges that require a variety of shots. The course has
long par 4,s for the long hitters and some short par 4's that offer the
opportunity of birdies. The signature par 3 ninth hole has a 50 meter
drop to the green and requires an accurate shot through trees on either
side. From the highest points on the course you can experience stunning
views of Phuket. Golf carts are compulsory at Red Mountain due to the
dramatic elevation changes of the layout.
The modern clubhouse offers excellent facilities including modern
spacious locker rooms, pro-shop with the latest golf apparel,
accessories and rental equipment. A variety of Thai and western cuisine
is available at the air conditioned restaurant or if you prefer, the
open air terrace overlooking the golf course.
Red Mountain was voted amongst the top three new courses in Asia in
2007 and it is easy to see why. The course is an inspiration to play
and a wonderful golf design, which has already led to comparisons to
