Accommodation
We designed and hand built our magnificent main-house/restaurant and charming hillside bungalows. They all face the river, sunrise, moonrise and hills covered with healthy forest. CAVE LODGE architecture is loosely based on traditional hilltribe houses. We use lots of natural materials, have an open fireplace in our main house, and plenty of open space. We like comfort, and relaxed comfortable guests. We are continually seeking ways to increase our guests enjoyment and satisfaction- including our piping hot, hot water system, comfortable mattresses and soft pillows, new herbal steam sauna, professional and affordable massage, open fireplace, fresh baked delicacies, very friendly staff, open and welcoming clean kitchen, ping pong table, great multi-tasted music collection, free internet (in our village).....not to mention all the activities that have made Cave Lodge one of Thailand's most famous "must visit" destinations (like the caves, karst walking, elephants, gibbons, bird eating fish, black water kayaking, underground waterfalls, prehistoric coffins, birdlife, biking etc. etc.....go on, look at the rest of the site, or at least the pictures.....) Some people say one of the best things about the Cave Lodge is that you hear no sounds of cars, motorbikes, or machines. You sleep with the natural sounds of the crickets, cicadas and frogs and wake to the calls of gibbons or the gentle music of cow bells.Yes, we show no movies or television in our main house, but we do provide a great, relaxed atmosphere where it is easy to meet people, talk, hang in a hammock, ride our swing, read a book and listen to music. Or, get away from it all and sit on our peaceful lawn on the bank of the river.
Accommodation includes basic bungalows, a dormitory for solo travellers and deluxe bungalows for those who want some luxury in the wilderness. Check out our place in the photos link...."worth a thousand words."
Hot, clean showers, winter campfires in the house, helpful and friendly staff, a laid back, hassle-free atmosphere, good information, our own unique bakery, fresh mountain coffee, a selection of fine wines (Aussie, Chile, French etc) and great Thai, Shan and western food - all at very reasonable prices - will help to make your stay comfortable, affordable and fun.
Prices range from 70 & 85 (Dorms), 150 & 200 (Rooms and huts with outside bathroom), to 300 and 450 (Deluxe Double Bungalows) Baht per night. We also have several family/group rooms for 4 to 5 people. Bookings are not essential, we will always find room for you. Or, phone us from anywhere and we will reserve a room for you.
