Koh Kham
Koh Kham, the emerald island in the Gulf of Thailand, is located approximately 20–25 km kilometre southeast of Bang Bao Bay at the southernmost end of Ko Chang near Ao Suan Yai.
Koh Kham is just a small island among the nine islands of Mu Koh Mak, it is known as "the Emerald of Trat Sea" from its very clean and clear sea around the island. While in the western part are some rocks and steep cliffs, the front is a 300-meter-long beach which is a safe swimming area.
Along the beach are lines of coconut trees with pleasant and quiet atmosphere. At around the front beach are wondrous volcanic stones. Archeologists believed this area used to be a crater hundreds millions years ago.
There is a view spot around 100 meters up on the hill, which can be reached by walking. From that point ones can see the impressive scenery of Trat Sea together with the most fanntastic sunset scdenery of Koh Kham.
Koh Kham is the only island of the surroundings where a set of black volcano-rocks is directly embed into the white sandy beach. This and the beautiful beaches, that are situated around the beautiful garden, make Ko Kham a popular spot for the tourist boats coming from Ko Chang.
On a small path at the southern beach you can reach a small place where you can watch the beautiful sunsets.

Ko Maak have not electricity on the island but the generator is started in the late afternoon. Mobil connection to most of the Thai mobile nets is guaranteed.
How to get there : From November to May there are daily boats starting from Baan Bang Bao (south of Ko Chang) to Ko Kham and back. As the departure times change quite often please ask on Ko Chang (tickets are available in almost all travel-agencies).
At 9.30 am, 11 am, 1.30 pm and 4 pm speedboats leave the mainland from the Laem Ngop pier (also called Khrom Luang pier or Tha Khrom Luang). The boats will bring you either directly to Ko Kham or to Ko Mak, where you just have to ask the local Thais who will give you information how to get to Ko Kham easily.
It may happen that the boats can't go when the waves are too high - what rarely happens during the season.
